Peter Marsh - Peter Marsh was born on September 24, 1818 in Hamilton Township, Northampton
County (modern Monroe County). Peter was the son of Abram and Sarah Marsh, neighbors of the
Meyer family. Peter Marsh learned the trade of Coopering (container making) and married Hannah
Meyer on December 4, 1842. Peter turned in his coopering tools for farm implements and the couple
lived at Quiet Valley throughout their lives, raising eight children here. Peter Marsh died
November 29, 1908 and is buried in Stroud Cemetery in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
