Goats
Goats have been referred to as the "poor man's cow" because they can live on forage that would not support cattle or sheep. Goat's milk is often given to infants who cannot tolerate cow's milk. The fat particles in goat's milk are smaller and do not separate, so it is more easily digested than cow's milk. The goat's popularity was based on its cleanliness, agility, hardiness, intelligence and the added bonus of costing little to feed and needing very little space.
